Cliff has spent the past 30 years as a police officer, originally an upstate New York cop, most recently patrolling the streets of Los Angeles as a Deputy Sheriff. One of his LA patrol assignments found him working a foot beat at the Universal Citywalk, and as fate would have it, a chance encounter with a local television producer. Soon after, his double life as "cop by day - comic by night" was exposed on a local television news special.
At the tender age of 15, Cliff began performing stand up at wedding receptions, and 2 years later got his first paying gig opening for a band. There was no turning back now, he was hooked. Over the years, he honed his comedy skills while receiving formal training in the entertainment business from humorist, author and speaker, Judy Carter (Cliff credits her workshops with the inspiration and motivation to start producing his own shows), actress and director Joan Darling, and acting coach Judy Kerr (Judy was instrummental in affording Cliff the opportunity to work several stints as an extra on the hit series Seinfeld).
His love for comedy moved Cliff to produce a successful comedy show at the famous “Roxy” theatre on Sunset Blvd. Not stopping there, Cliff went bigger, renting the “Hollywood Palladium”. He teamed up with national headliner Mike Marino, and together they packed the house with over 1000 enthusiastic fans. The event, not surprisingly, turned out to be a huge success.
With such a positive attitude and upbeat personality, it's hard for some people to believe Cliff is really a cop. "My cop fans are the most loyal, upbeat, well humored group you could find. People just don’t realize that most cops have a great sense of humor. We do, really!"
Now dedicated to performing full-time, Cliff is entertaining audiences through his own productions and as
LA's Comedy Cop on stage and at corporate events.
