Simply Seth Crawford
Seth Ian Crawford, goes by the stage name of Simply Seth, was born April 10, 1972 in New York.
He started out in the early 90's by dancing. He was a "club kid", known at all the local clubs by getting the party started with his dance crew, creating new dance routines.
In 1991, his senior year of high school, he was teaching dance and providing lessons at the Miami Way Theater to Phillip Michael Thomas's family.
In 1992, he opened a dance studio in South Beach. His company was called Step by Step. He taught modern jazz, hip hop, and reggae for seven years. He worked with various artists on choreography routines for videos and other venues. He collaborated with Steven Cruz at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center on various choreography routines.
Late 90's, He started a dance troop with an associate. The troop was named "Déjà vu". They performed up and down the east coast for various artists.
During the year of 2000, Seth performed in his first stage play "Eipicat", written by Jeanine Michel. It ran for four weeks. He also performed with an improve troop called, "It’s all about the Laughs," at various locations and venues; and performed voice over’s for various commercials for a company named "TeleClub".
· 2001 was when he started reciting his poetry and performing spoken word. He performed at all the local venues and started traveling and performing up the east coast.
· 2005 Seth started an online clothing store for his clothing line "Dat Dad & Dat Mom apparel, which is about inspiring parent's and individuals into becoming better parents at www.datdad.com
· 2011 Seth was invited to Brownsville Middle School by their drama teacher, Marilynn Philogene. He volunteered his time and shared his acting experience with the drama class. He also gave the class a chance to exhibit their skills at Improv.
· 2012 Seth played the role of the principal in the remake of "The Breakfast Club", directed by Najeh Davenport and Emmanuel Philogene.
· 2012 he played the role of an inmate in the film, Sinz of Da Fatha.
· 2013 Role in an independent film, called “Casting Dreams”
· 2013 POC (Power of Color) Improv/skit comedy Troop.
· 2014 Movie Change of Heart directed by Kenny Ortega. Character, “Pink Cowboy”.
· 2014 Lead role of Hosea, in an inspirational stage play “henpecked”. The modern day story of Hosea & Gomer.
· 2014-2016 Stand- up comedian, various performances at the Improv, Miami Comedy Festivals, Etc.
