Mary Brienza (Judeen) is a performer and writer with credits ranging from musical theatre and concert dance to stand-up comedy. Appearances include Leave It To Me (Off Broadway), Dance Dialogue Reflections with the A&G Dance Company (Dance Theatre Workshop), Jump Rhythm Jazz Project (Kaye Playhouse) the self-penned solo comedy A Women Possessed, the sketch comedy trio Girl Talk as well as productions of various musical theatre classics too insignificant to mention. At Symphony Space she has appeared in Wall-To-Wall Cole Porter, Bloomsday On Broadway, the Thalia Reading Series’ Helpers, and is a contributing writer and recurring cast member of the Thalia Follies. Since 1993 she has appeared extensively as her songwriting alter ego Judeen Chalk and has been seen and heard on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, radio markets across the U.S. as well as Belgium, Sweden and Guam, and stages throughout the country. A respected teacher of theatre dance and tap dance, she is a log-standing guest teacher and choreographer for New York City’s High School for Performing Arts.
Kathryn Markey as Judelle Chalk
Kathryn Markey (Judelle) is an actor, director, writer and comic. She has appeared on Broadway in 3 From Brooklyn (as Debbie Claus, Santa’s trophy wife) and in many New York, regional and international productions including Rain (NPR) Beau Jest, Isn’t it Romantic?, Separation (English Theater of Sweden), Playing for Time (Edinburgh – Fringe First Award), The Birds (Kennedy Center) and Ragtime (White Plains Performing Arts Center). Film credits include Picture Perfect and Filmic Achievement. At Symphony Space she has appeared on Selected Shorts and is a contributing writer and recurring cast member for the Thalia Follies. She has done commercials, foreign language dubbing and animation voices. She gathered her comedic characters into the one-person show Greetings From the Top Of The World and began her collaboration with Mary Brienza with Girl Talk in 1993. Her work as Judelle Chalk has landed her on television, radio and many a honky-tonk across the USA.
Leenya Rideout as Belva Chalk
Leenya Rideout (Belva) appeared on Broadway in Cabaret (original cast-Fred Astaire award for best ensemble) Company, and Cyrano de Bergerac, and Off Broadway in The Portable Pioneer and Prairie Show at the Melting Pot Theatre and Cowgirls at the Minetta Lane. Her extensive regional and international credits include Canterbury Tales at The Guthrie, Swingtime Canteen, Summer of ’42, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls and Avenue X at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Film appearances include Mona Lisa Smile, Loser and The Singing Biologist. With degrees in opera and violin performance, she has played the concert stage: My Favorite Broadway from Carnegie Hall, Bringing Broadway Back Home with the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra, and was the silver medalist in the 2008 Savannah Music Festival’s American Traditions Vocal Competition. Leenya’s prowess as a singer/songwriter can be found not only with The Chalks, but on the cd “What About Ya” with celtic rock band Finn’s Fury, and on her own solo album “Phoenix.”
