This San Francisco stand-up comedy veteran is a strange cat with a wild history and a loyal following. His material is thoroughly original-every show differs enormously, each joke is incredibly detailed and every word conjures a vivid image. Eccentric and random, his act is best appreciated by multiple viewings. Rubin doesn’t just take the stage, he attacks it. His audiences are abducted and taken to his world, a world where only the laughs are larger than he is.
A talented writer, performer and actor, Bob Rubin can currently be seen giving a memorable performance as “Gorgeous George” in the film, Boondock Saints ll All Saints Day, a sequel to the 1999 cult classic, Boondock Saints, and a top ten indie film of 2009. You’ll see a lot more of Rubin in the special featurette accompanying the Boondock Saints ll DVD, scheduled for release in March, 2010.
The Rube, as he and his fans like to call him, has also graced the big screen with roles in The Animal (Revolution) and The Hot Chick (Disney), and he has been seen on Late Friday (NBC), Saturday Night Special (FOX), Roseanne (ABC) and several cable stand-up shows.
You can check out Bob Rubin anytime at his website, Rubetime.com, and look for his forthcoming book, “Two Pumps and a Squirt: My Battle with Condiment Addiction”, available later this year.
Bob Rubin is a good guy who currently resides in Hollywood.
