After college, Dave left the cornfields of Iowa for the big city of Houston where he learned improv and became passionate about the "art" of standup. During the comic boom of the early 90s, Dave gathered a strong fanbase in the South while honing his craft. Dave had the honor of opening for Kansas, the Monkees Reunion, and Gordon Lightfoot (That all sounds a lot cooler than it actually was). He was the host for 9 episodes of a local TV show called "Streets & Giggles" on Fox20. This local show included improvised street comedy (similar to "Jay-Walking"), pranks, and highlighted local standups and sketch comedy groups (It *was* a lot cooler than it sounds). Other early credits include NY Improv, Catch a Rising Star, Comedy Store, The Laugh Stop, Jokers, FunnyBone, DingHo in Boston, and Play it Again Sams. Recordings of live performances (tapes were before CDs, remember?) "Stuck on Sunset" and "Stuck on Campus" which was recorded at Harvard's Co-op, and Rice University. Total sales for both tapes were well into the tens. TODAY Dave is currently on stage as a standup and as a motivational and business topic speaker at venues across the country. He also writes and performs with Midwest comedy troupes “The Patsies” and “The Comedy Co-op” and is on the board of directors for the Midwest JestFest.
