Theatre performances in Europe include Sunset Boulevard (Norma Desmond, Dir. Trevor Nunn), Master Class (Maria Callas), Piaf (Prix Walo Best Actress Award), Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett, German premiere), starring role of Johanna Spyri in the world premieres of the musicals Heidi and Heidi And Johanna, Candide in Concert (Old Lady), Lila Rosen (written for Ms. Mathys), leading roles in Cabaret (Sally Bowles), Nunsense (orig. German recording), Company, Irma La Douce, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Rocky Horror Show and many more. USA theatre credits include Gypsy (Mama Rose), Café Puttanesca (The Baroness, New York Reading), The Rivals (Mrs. Malaprop, New York Reading) Dinner for Ahmed (World Premiere), in collaboration with John Bell: Cabaret (Frl.Schneider) and 8 Minute Musicals at the New York Musical Theatre Festival 2010. Solo concerts at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in 2008 and in Irving, TX 2009, featured performer at the 21st New York Cabaret Convention 2010 presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, as well as numerous gala and cabaret appearances. Recipient of an Agnes Moorehead Award as „one of the ten best New York live performances of the year 2009“ for her concert Two Worlds, One Voice (Musical Director: John Bell). This concert will also be presented by the Library of Congress in Washington DC at the Atlas Theatre on May 7th, 2011. International Concerts and CDs with orchestra include Sue Mathys Sings Broadway And Piaf (w/ Luzerner Sinfonieorchester), Piaf, Lila Rosen, Heidi Teil 2. Numerous films, TV-appearances, radio plays and voice overs in Europe. Presently creating the title role in the development of the new American musical Stella Dallas (being written for Ms. Mathys). http://www.suemathys.com JOHN BELL (Musical Director) New York credits include The Body Beautiful (starring Cady Huffman, Brad Oscar, & Megan Lawrence) - also cast recording, Plain & Fancy (starring Cady Huffman and Charlotte Rae), and Knickerbocker Holiday with the York Theatre Company; Meet Me In St. Louis and A Child’s Christmas in Wales at the Irish Repertory Theatre; 27 Rue de Fleurus at Urban Stages; as well as many readings and workshops of new musicals, including four productions in the New York Musical Theatre Festival. He recently worked with Oscar-winner Blake Edwards on the development of his new musical, Big Rosemary (score by Lisa Lambert & Greg Morrison). Regional credits include Cabaret, The Who’s Tommy, Oklahoma, Hello Dolly!, The Fantasticks, Cats, Forever Plaid, and Phantom. John has worked with the Riverside Theatre, Westchester Broadway Theatre, Merrimack Repertory Theatre, Hangar Theatre, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Pops. His orchestrations were recently heard at the Kennedy Center, sung by Raul Esparza. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College, and has also studied at the Manhattan School of Music. John teaches musical theatre classes and audition workshops in New York City and around the country.
