J. Michael Feldman
J. Michael Feldman, born Michael Feldman, grew up in Brooklyn, New York. The only child of a neurotic Jewish mother and a laid back Jewish father. He received his BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he created and performed numerous comedic solo pieces including Diagnosis: Jew Pain, which his parents didn’t know about until much, MUCH later. At NYU he studied with many prominent theater artists including solo performer Deb Margolin and Tony-nominated director Liz Swados. After graduating from NYU, Michael worked behind the scenes on the award-winning television show The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He started as an intern coffee-gopher, getting coffee for such comic greats like Lewis Black and Stephen Colbert, until one day he pitched a joke that made it on the air. Feldman was then hired as a full-time paid coffee-gopher. Michael was also a member of the sketch comedy troupe Fresh Meat, which toured across the country and Canada to critical acclaim. He also tours the college circuit with his show, MuscleBound, a multidisciplinary one-man show/documentary which tackles the prevalent yet rarely discussed topic of male body image issues. Michael also likes wine and ice cream. A lot.
