Barrett has appeared in concert and in cabaret around the United States and
abroad for the past thirty-five years. John Hoglund of Back Stage has
declared the New York City based singer and pianist "a pillar of New York
nightlife". Mr. Barrett is best known for his interpretation of songs by
Porter, Noel Coward, and from the Broadway stage. Variety proclaimed "Barrett
has an extensive knowledge of musicals…his catalog is virtually

critical acclaim for their performances in New York cabaret rooms.
Chris has performed solo cabaret performance at the venerable Guild Hall
at The John Drew Theater, East Hampton, NY and was a featured performer at
LINCOLN CENTER’S Bruno Walter Auditorium. Also in New York City he has had
major engagements at the Carlyle, Pierre, and Stanhope Hotels. Other
cabaret venues in New York include Don't Tell Mama, Judy’s Chelsea, Helen’s
Hideaway Room, The FireBird Café, Dillons and The Metropolitan Room. He has
also appeared in cabaret at Le Dome @ The Manor, West Orange, N.J., The
Century Inn, Scenery Hill, PA, Odette’s, New Hope, PA, and The Pittsburgh
Light Opera Cabaret, Pittsburgh, PA and south Florida's newest cabaret venue
The Torch Club, Ft. Lauderdale.
Major bookings have taken him to the Bel-Air Hotel, Los Angeles, the
Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Washington, DC, the Colony and Chesterfield Hotels, Palm
Beach, FL and in Europe to the Hotel Cipriani, Venice, Italy and to
Chris Barrett’s career has been highlighted by commissioned performances
for The Smithsonian Institution and Steinway Hall, and with appearances as
guest artist performing a Noel Coward program with The Milwaukee Symphony
Orchestra. His theatrical credits include an Actors Equity Association
production of "Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris" at Walt
’s Attic, Pittsburgh, PA.
Among his many private engagements, were command performances in New York
for HRH Prince Philip, a national promotional tour for the Baron Philippe
and Philippine de Rothschild, invitational private performances for former
Presidents Nixon and Reagan. Chris has enjoyed repeat performances at the
Union and Union League Clubs, NY and at the Metropolitan Club, Washington,
DC along with scores of soirees from New York City to Washington D.C. to
Palm Beach, Florida.
Chris Barrett has five recordings, and is a member of Actors Equity
Association and Local 802 of The American Federation of Musicians.
