Claude Hall, born in Brooklyn, New York of Haitian parents, moved first to Europe before settling in Los Angeles in 2007. At home, her parents filled the airwaves with either classical or Haitian music while she preferred to immerse herself in the sounds of Ashford and Simpson, George Michael, Chaka Kahn, Sade, Rufus, and Whitney Huston, to name a few.
Instinct pushed her to move to Paris and there, her musical horizons were stretched. Along with artists like Erykah Badu and Serge Gainsbourg, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson and Eartha Kitt were some of the Jazz Divas who entered her musical environment and introduced her to the beauty of Jazz.
She considers herself a late bloomer as it was not until many years after arriving in Paris that she finally decided to explore her dream. Instinctively, she chose to emulate those Divas of Jazz which have enchanted so many....their class and style drawing her to them.
An autumn weekend in Prague validated her dream and her talent...a friend overheard her singing a couple of Gershwin tunes and for a movie he was directing, he asked her to record “When I Fall In Love”, made famous by many including Etta Jones. Her path then brought her to Saint Barths for a short while where she continued her vocal
training and modeling career. It’s here, on this island of sheer beauty where anything can happen, that the stage revealed itself to be the home sweet home she’d been searching. She became the resident singer at Casa Nikki and performed showcases at La Plage, the island’s
most renowned venues.
Once in LA, she entered the voice over acting world and continued to hone her craft while her musical environment expanded once more. De-Phazz, Little Dragon, Me’Shell Ndegeochello, Janelle Monae, and so many other alternative sounds entered her environment. She has since performed for private events and been the resident artist at l’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills......... “....a nice element of classy sophistication, which I believe comes out naturally also from yourself as a woman! "Peel me.." and "The Look..." are full of sensuality and passion.”..........Luis Munoz (musician)
Currently, she has just finished her ‘Unplugged’ Demo and is beginning work on her debut album which will include originals along with her unique interpretation of Jazz Standards inspired by the Divas and the musical genres that have accompanied her along her path.
