Tom Caltabiano, a New Jersey native, began performing stand-up in The Original Improv, The Comedy Cellar, Stand-Up NY, and Catch A Rising Star before appearing on HBO Comedy Showcase. During this time Caltabiano met Ray Romano, and frequently toured as his opening act. Caltabiano eventually relocated to Los Angeles, and was a writer/co-executive producer on Everybody Loves Raymond for the duration of the series. He won two Emmys when the show was awarded Outstanding Comedy Series in both 2003 and 2005. Caltabiano also wrote for Romano when he twice-hosted Saturday Night Live.
Caltabiano directed and co-starred in the comedic road tour documentary 95 Miles to Go. The film was an official selection at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival, HBO’s The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, and The SXSW Film Festival in Austin. It had a limited theatrical run in 2006 and ran exclusively on HBO beginning in 2007.
Caltabiano guest-hosted CBS’s The Late Late Show, and has made numerous TV appearances on shows such as ABC’s The View, FOX’s Good Day LA, and CBS’s The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. He frequently hosts the live stage show Everybody Loves Raymond: Inside The Writers Room, featuring the Raymond writers discussing how they turned their real-life stories into 210 episodes of the hit sitcom. Inside The Writers Room has appeared at many venues including HBO’s The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival and B.B. Kings in New York.
