The son of a medical records clerk and a disc jockey/failed motivational speaker, Kris Tinkle's comedy career launched in the talent-rich San Francisco scene. An honest, engaging style equipped with controllled energy helped Tinkle stand out on stage, opening for acts such as Dave Chappelle, Louis CK and Zach Galifianakis. Now residing in comedy mecca New York City, he is a regular on Jim Breuer’s Sirius XM Show “Friday’s with Breuer” and co-host of the popular sports podcast "HammerFisting Podcast" on the Riotcast Network.
Tinkle is a veteran of multiple USO tours including Japan, Germany and a tour of Kuwait and Iraq with David Allan Grier unofficially titled “The D*ck Jokes for Freedom Tour.” Back on the home front, he has rocked stages at SF Sketch Fest and The Download Alternative Music Festival. Bill Burr's Comedy Central special "Let It Go" at the world famous Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco featured Tinkle as the night's warm-up act.
Tinkle's debut comedy record "Almost Awesome" (a Rooftop Comedy release) charted top-10 on iTunes and Pandora internet radio, receiving regular rotation on Sirius XM. In addition to stand-up comedy, he has performed and written numerous sketches and web series on YouTube, Crackle.com and SuperDeluxe.com from Adult Swim with over 1 million views. His live sports comedy/talk show “Steel Cage Comedy” was covered by Yahoo! and Espn.com and is set to appear in the upcoming sports documentary “Such Great Heights.”
A former Bay Area school teacher early in his comedy career, Tinkle crafted a stand-up comedy curriculum to impart the craft of funny to high school kids, who studied, wrote and performed at the Punchline Comedy Club to earn their grade. The class garnered attention of Louis CK and Chappelle and the national headliners donated their time to further instruct the students of the unique program. Now a full-time comedian, Tinkle continues performing in every state in the Union and all colleges that welcome his underdog funny.
