UK born Paul Warnes began his stand up career on the London Comedy circuit, transferring to Sydney a few years ago. Since then he has built a reputation as a commanding and intelligent performer. His act incorporates musings on relationships, quantum physics and the odd piece of poetry. He is known as a strong MC able to quickly build a rapport with the toughest audience. He is a regular at The Laugh Garage, Comedy Store, Melbourne (Last Laugh) Comedy Club, Sit Down Comedy Club Brisbane, Comedy Store Sydney and all major clubs around Australia.
Paul has developed a number of corporate clients delivering material tailored and pitched at their specific requirements, from charitable church organisations, large national airlines and rugby clubs. He is able to deliver 'mature, grown up comedy' while remaining clean and free from swearing.
"Smart has many definitions...and Paul Warnes suits them all!" – Tommy Dean (Comedian and Broadcaster)
"As soon as Paul arrives on stage he lights up the room. He has a commanding stage presence, and chances are one day he is going to steal my job... bastard!" – Wil Anderson (Comedian and Broadcaster)
"Brit-born Paul Warne's Hartlepool accent has become as subdued as his suit and tie and this subtle camouflage allows him enough cover to take a careful bead on the audience and deliver cracking shots seemingly out of the urbane blue." – Daily Telegraph 24 Aug 2009
"Even his world-weary north-of-England accent sounds sort of square, calculated to render a person helplessly unprepared for the stampeding horde of scantily clad Tartars he unleashes three seconds into his act. By scantily clad Tartars, we of course mean jokes, about the Heisenberg uncertainty principle (what else?), the sexual compensations of weighing 135kg, mothers-in-law, and wives so fantastically shrewish they bond with sharks." www.rhum.org.au January 2010
