A childhood in the crime filled barrio of California’s “Inland Empire” area and an adolescence rife with getting jumped and disrupting class ensured that Connor McSpadden needed to be a good talker. At 16 years old he started sneaking out of the house with his allowance and his learners permit to take the same silver tongue that helped him escape detention and the fists of bullies onstage to make people laugh.
Performing every night multiple time a night Connor quickly made a name for himself in the greater Los Angeles area and started producing his own sell out monthly show “Inland Emperors” at the world famous Improv in his home town of Ontario and the popular weekly showcase “Dynamite Comedy” at Aces Comedy Club in Murrieta. He is also the host of the IE music institution “Band Wars” at the M15 Concert Theater in Corona, where he entertains a crowd of hundreds every week for a 5 hour show in between dozens of bands while they set up and tear down.
His onstage topics vary widely from personal stories like getting robbed on Christmas Eve and growing up in a diverse neighborhood to social commentary about race and gender. Connor’s earnest conversational style and off the cuff freedom have made him a favorite of the club circuit in Los Angeles, and his versatility has taken him to colleges, casinos and beyond.
His comedy has been featured in the Ventura Harbor Comedy Festival, the San Diego Festival and earned him the title of “Comic of the Month” at the popular comedy aggregator site ComedyFilter.com. He recently made a run at the Ontario Improv’s leg of Comedy Central’s “Up Next” showcase. His biggest honor however has been returning to his alma mater Colony High School and speaking to his old Drama class about his life as a performer.
Connor currently performs nightly in and around Los Angeles at night and sleeps till noon every day.
