Did you know that L.A.’s favorite TV weatherman is also a stand-up comic? FRITZ COLEMAN worked as a comedian and disc jockey for several years and as a radio personality in Buffalo, New York before heading to LA in 1980 to pursue stand-up full time. In 1982 he began work as weekend weatherman at KNBC, and he has been the weekday weatherman since 1984. He still performs comedy regularly and has graced some of the city’s most famous stages. The L.A. Times has described him as an “affable headliner” and “a natural racontuer.”

As a kid, I always liked comedy and would listen to albums by George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, and Lenny Bruce. Despite my enjoyment of these great talents, I decided to pursue an unfunny career and left Los Angeles for San Francisco State College to be a lawyer. When that did not hold my attention, I switched majors and ended up getting a Bachelor of. Art Degree in Communications.
