Called the “perfect fusion of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis”, by the New York Post, BOBBY COLLINS is a born story-teller - confident, charismatic and a master of the smooth delivery. Featuring KAREN RONTOWSKI (The Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central)
Bobby Collins is always the funniest guy in the room. With more than 200 stand-up performances around the country each year, he is a show-business institution who has made millions laugh.
A native of New York, he was literally born into comedy when his father named him for his favorite comedian, Bob Hope. In the 1980s, Bobby left a lucrative position as vice president of Calvin Klein to pursue his dream and ended up working alongside such comedy legends as Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. While other comics have left stand-up behind, Bobby has kept going, preferring the intimacy and energy he finds in live clubs, theaters and casinos.
The audience at a Bobby Collins show is half the fun. Many of Bobby’s enthusiastic fans have been following him for years and know by heart some of his classic bits (“…on the inside!”). But Bobby keeps it fresh with new observations based on everyday life and his travels around the country.
Over the years, he has hosted VH-1′s “Stand Up Spotlight”; toured with Cher, Julio Iglesias, Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett, among others; and released six comedy CDs, “On the Inside,” “Out of Bounds,” “You’re Not Coming With Us,” “Mr. New York,” “I Wanna Go Home” and most recently “I’m on the Boat.” His latest DVD, “Telling It Like It Is” is available on BobbyCollins.com and will be in-stores, on Amazon and on iTunes in February.
David Brenner says, “Even if you can't spell Karen Rontowski, you'd
better remember it, because she is GREAT!”
Ms. Rontowski describes herself as having an optimistic outlook;
everything is coming up roses when you talk to Karen. So what if her
therapist says she’s in complete denial. The truth is, when it comes to
her standup comedy career, everything is coming up roses, or at least
Comedian Karen Rontowski’s upbeat, optimistic and clean sense of
humor has earned her headlining spots all over the world. She has also
opened for such show biz legends as Bob Hope, Ray Charles and the
Monkees. Often described as a “New Age Hippie” Rontowski says
“there is no time like the present to be living in the past.”
Karen’s real touring trips (not the ones in her head) include 45 of the 50
states, Canada, Japan, Greenland and all over Europe. She has also
entertained the troops with tales of her Polish father who once put a
drawbridge on their house… actually he just installed the garage door
upside down. But that’s Karen…. always accentuating the positive..
A television favorite, you may have seen this hilarious woman on
Comedy Central, Live at Gotham and Comics Unleashed. A regular on
the Bob and Tom Radio Show, Karen keeps listeners laughing not only
with her standup, but also when she talks about her other career as a
Recently seen performing in the encore production of David Brenner’s
“What’s so funny?” and the TBS Comedy Festival, Karen just completed
the television pilot, Karen’s Supernatural Junkyard, in which she spear-
heads hilarious adventures into supernatural investigations. Just ask
her about her ghost orbs! “I am not afraid of ghosts, they’re just people
who don’t know their dead yet. Like Dick Cheney.”
As a kid, I always liked comedy and would listen to albums by George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, and Lenny Bruce. Despite my enjoyment of these great talents, I decided to pursue an unfunny career and left Los Angeles for San Francisco State College to be a lawyer. When that did not hold my attention, I switched majors and ended up getting a Bachelor of. Art Degree in Communications.
