It's an open call. That means you don't sign up in advance -- you simply show up. The audition is on the 1st Saturday of every month at 4 p.m. Comedians are then chosen from the audition for the booked show run on Sunday nights in Stage Two (you'll generally be booked about 6-8 weeks in advance). Comedians are given 5 minutes to perform at the audition (with a 10 minute set, if you're booked for the show).

As a kid, I always liked comedy and would listen to albums by George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, and Lenny Bruce. Despite my enjoyment of these great talents, I decided to pursue an unfunny career and left Los Angeles for San Francisco State College to be a lawyer. When that did not hold my attention, I switched majors and ended up getting a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.
