Joey Infante

Joey Infante 1 Photo

Joey Infante, director, Cuban-born Joey Infante has an impressive resume. He was a reigning star in Cuba and brought to the New York stages not only his singing and acting talents, but dancing as well. Joey was discovered by the late Richard Rodgers while appearing at the Westport Country Playhouse in Connecticut. From there Joey began performing in such Broadway musicals as West Side Story, Oklahoma, Brigadoon, Guys and Dolls, to name a few. Joey was a regular on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. His other works include Spanish productions and soap operas along with bilingual commercials. These endeavors won Mr. Infante many awards and honorable mentions. Joey was the original “image maker.” He stepped into the fashion and make-over world working with the famous ‘Kenneth’ and ‘Larry Matthew’ salons before opening his own, ‘Chez Joey.’ Taking things one step further, Mr. Infante became an author penning, “Cuba: Escape from Paradise.” The legendary American painter Norman Rockwell guided Joey’s early years as a painter. Today his work has been shown at many of NYC’s leading galleries including The National Arts Club. Joey’s painting ‘9/11’ has been displayed all over the world and will find a permanent home in the future ‘9/11’ Museum’ at ground zero. Earl Wilson, New York critic once wrote after watching Joey perform with Ginger Rogers at the Waldorf “Enfin it can be said of Joey Infante that he is a thorough showman…bravo.”

Despite my enjoyment of these great talents, I decided to pursue an unfunny career and left Los Angeles for San Francisco State College to be a lawyer. When that did not hold my attention, I switched majors and ended up getting a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.
