Sanjay Nambiar is an award-winning author, a freelance copywriter, the founder of Umiya Publishing, and an improv comedy performer. Through his books, Sanjay hopes to inspire readers and convey positive messages to kids. He won a Mom’s Choice Awards Silver Medal and a Gelett Burgess Children’s Book Awards Gold Medal for his debut book, "Maybe (A Little Zen for Little Ones)". He also is the author of the award-winning "Still There? (A Little Zen for Little Ones)" and "Remember the Stars (A Little Zen for Little Ones)". In 2013, Sanjay published "The Super Duper Princess Heroes: How It All Started,” a picture book that subverts the princess paradigm and encourages girls to be empowered while retaining the cuteness of the princess aesthetic. For improv, Sanjay performs with Ghost Party Orchestra at the Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica, CA, where he also received his comedy training. Sanjay grew up in Carson, CA, where he overcame a gang- and drug-riddled environment with the help of a closely-knit family and a focus on education. He graduated with honors from U.C. Berkeley, with degrees in Economics and Neurobiology, and earned an M.B.A. from UCLA.

Bob AKA Owner

As a kid, I always liked comedy and would listen to albums by George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, and Lenny Bruce. Despite my enjoyment of these great talents, I decided to pursue an unfunny career and left Los Angeles for San Francisco State College to be a lawyer. When that did not hold my attention, I switched majors and ended up getting a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.
