As a native of the well known Virginia Beach, Angelica Mackey grew up watching comedy. Famous stand-up comedians such as Eddie Murphy and Steve Harvey provided the inspiration that later grew into a sincere motivation to become a stand-up comedian herself. For the past four years Angelica Mackey, sometimes referred to as “Jell Bell”, has taken that motivating drive of becoming a stand-up comedian into a full motion action plan that’s signed, sealed and delivered. Mackey has entertained a diverse audience at several showcase stages in the Hampton Roads to include Montego Caribbean Restaurant and Bar’s “Lyrically Spoken” in Virginia Beach and The Palace on Plume Street’s “Fuzzy Wednesdays” in Norfolk. She has also performed at comedy clubs such as Cozzy’s in Newport News and Virginia Beach’s Funnybone. One of her major accomplishments was achieved when she headlined at Comedy at the Café Pembroke Meadows, of Virginia Beach. From the moment that Mackey walks through any door her character supersedes her as she brings charisma and highly energetic comedy that focuses on her personal experiences throughout her lifespan. Her distinguished depiction of comedy lies within her religious background, not to be confused or labeled as Christian comedy but real life situations that incorporates religion and comedy. Mackey’s personal quote “talent is never enough, so you have to work hard for what it is you really want” is exactly what she does every time she graces the stage with her presence. She’s working hard towards her goal of one days performing on Showtime at the Apollo.

Bob AKA Owner

As a kid, I always liked comedy and would listen to albums by George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, and Lenny Bruce. Despite my enjoyment of these great talents, I decided to pursue an unfunny career and left Los Angeles for San Francisco State College to be a lawyer. When that did not hold my attention, I switched majors and ended up getting a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.
