Jimmy O. Yang is an actor, standup comedian, writer. He played Bernard Tai in Crazy Rich Asians and
currently stars as Jian Yang on the Emmy-nominated HBO series Silicon Valley. He made his feature film
debut on Peter Berg's Patriot's Day, alongside Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Bacon. As a comedian, Jimmy
performed standup on The Arsenio Hall Show and received a rare standing ovation. He is also the author
of his memoir "How To American".

As a kid, I always liked comedy and would listen to albums by George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, and Lenny Bruce. Despite my enjoyment of these great talents, I decided to pursue an unfunny career and left Los Angeles for San Francisco State College to be a lawyer. When that did not hold my attention, I switched majors and ended up getting a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.
